Reading
Our story of the week is If You Could Go to Antarctica. Our main focus of the week is classifying and categorizing. We are also practicing listening for story elements.

We will learn about short e as a beginning and medial sound.

Math
We will finish Chapter 10 on solid and plane figures, equal parts, fourths, and halves. We will begin Chapter 11 on money. Please work on recognizing coins and their value. We are learning about pennies, nickels, dime, and quarters. This will be a tested skill on the report card.
Penmanship and Writing
We are beginning each sentence with a capital letter and ending it with the correct punctuation. We are writing in our journals everyday. Students are creating their own sentences.
Announcements and Important Dates
23rd I will be out ½ day for a doctor's appointment. Mrs. Hensley will be here.
25th Read to Succeed forms are due. This is the last day for a Six Flags ticket. No late entries will be accepted. I originally had down the 27th, so this is a correction.
27th 911 is Coming! Book-it is due today!
